Ecologists assessing a grassland site

Preliminary Roost Assessment

An initial building and site assessment for bat-roost potential and evidence of nesting birds.

England and WalesReport typically guaranteed within 7 days of survey — or it's free

A Preliminary Roost Assessment, or PRA, is commonly requested by a Local Planning Authority. The survey assesses whether bats could be roosting on site and records evidence of nesting birds.

The findings determine whether further bat-emergence surveys are needed. Depending on the level of potential or any confirmed roost, between zero and three emergence surveys may be required. If roosting bats are confirmed, licensing and mitigation measures may also be necessary.

We typically guarantee your completed PRA report within 7 days of the survey date—or it’s free.
