Bat emergence survey equipment outside a house at dusk

Bat Emergence Surveys & Report

Dusk surveys using bat detectors and infrared equipment to establish whether bats are roosting on site.

Sites across the UKReport typically guaranteed within 7 days of final survey — or it's free

Bat emergence surveys establish whether bats are roosting on site. Where bats are present, the survey records the species, roost type and number of individuals.

These surveys are normally required when a Preliminary Roost Assessment identifies bat-roost potential. The level of potential determines the minimum survey effort, while a confirmed roost may require a total of three surveys.

Surveys are completed around dusk by qualified surveyors using bat detectors and infrared cameras. The findings are presented in a report that either supports the planning process or informs the licensing and mitigation work needed next.

Survey scheduling remains subject to site access, the bat-survey season and suitable weather. We typically guarantee your completed report within 7 days of the final survey date—or it’s free.
